Jason Todd, the second Robin, was controversial from his inception as a replacement for Dick Grayson (the first Robin). Created by Gerry Conway for Batman #357, Todd was a mirror image of Dick Grayson with the exception that he had blonde hair that he dyed when appearing as Robin. After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Jason Todd's origin was dramatically altered to re-envision him as street kid. Jason Todd hereafter was depicted as questioning, petulant and had a tendency to be more extreme than Batman, even killing in one instance. In the Death In The Family storyline Jason Todd as Robin had been beaten by the Joker. The end of the comic featured a 1-900 telephone number to allow fans to determine his fate. While an alternate ending was created to show Robin had lived, the fan vote determined the fate of Jason Todd to die. Batman #428 revealed the outcome of the fan vote.

Here Oliver Queen's son, Connor Hawke has been Green Arrow for only a few years after Oliver Queen's death in Green Arrow # 100-101. Having been dead for over three years, this issue features a cameo scene at Oliver Queen's gravesite that shows Parallax (Hal Jordan) conjuring a second unrevealed figure. In Kevin Smith's Green Arrow series, this event is revealed to be Oliver Queens resurrection.

Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps # 13 features the debut of V. Ken Marion as the new artist on Green Lantern. This comic has been hand signed with a Green Lantern head sketch by V.
