This issue is part of the legendary comic run of John Byrne and Chris Claremont that shaped the scope of X-Men to this day. The Byrne/Claremont team reinvigorated interest in the X Men franchise and saved it from cancellation. These stories developed Wolverine's background and was the source of some of the greatest X-Men stories, "Days Of Future Past" and "the Dark Phoenix Saga."
