About This Comic:

Blue Ribbon # 5 is hand signed by Marvel Comics architect, Jack Kirby (1917-1994) and Rich Buckler. Kirby signed the comic in black marker (See Pics).

Blue Ribbon # 5 features an original cover by Jack Kirby of the superhero, Shield. The comic reprints Kirby and Simon’s The Double Life of Private Strong # 1 (1959)

Jack Kirby is regarded as the greatest force in comics of the 20th Century.  His creative output includes the creation of most of the Marvel Comics Universe. Specifically, his work for marvel include Captain America, Avengers, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Thor, The Hulk and many more. For DC Comics, Kirby created the villain Darkseid, as well as the massive New Gods “Fourth World” Space Saga. His work was the basis for elements of Star Wars by George Lucas and many other creators. His impact in the comic industry continues to influence artists to this day.

This is a RARE signature to obtain and is extremely collectible and highly sought after.

Jack Kirby’s signature on this comic book has been verified to be authentic by the Brooklyn Comic Shop. Rich Buckler’s signature was witnessed by a Brooklyn Comic Shop Representative at the East Coast Comic Con 2014.

The comic comes with a Certificate of Authenticity C.O.A.
