The series is known for Ross’s photo-realistic portrayal of super-heroes that would become his defining impact on the comic art industry. The story by Busiek is also revered for its re-telling of the history of Marvel’s Golden and Silver Age from the point of view of an ordinary “man on the street.” Signature Notes: This comic was signed by Alex Ross and Kurt Busiek while promoting the mini-series at a comic convention during its initial debut circa 1994.
