About: Secret Wars # 8 features the Origin of the Venom Alien and tells how Spider-Man acquired the black suit. This issue of Secret Wars was published at the same time that the original Venom storyline was concluding in Amazing Spider-Man # 258, which revealed the costume to be an evil alien symbiote. Human Torch # 04 is hand signed by Legendary Silver Age artists Dick Ayers and Larry Lieber. Dick Ayers (1924-2014) signed the comic at Big Apple Con 2010 and Larry Lieber (b. 1932) signed the comic at the East Coast Comic Con 2017. Condition:  Mid Grade condition with minimal cover wear.

These issues feature the first appearance of Mr. Sinister, leader of the Marauders. Following the Mutant Massacre storyline, Mr. Sinister sends the Marauders to kill Cyclops's estranged wife, Madelyne Prior. This issue also features an appearance by Sabretooth that leads into the next isssue's second Wolverine vs. Sabretooth fight in Uncanny X-Men # 222.
