The series ended with 72. Because of the series coming to a close, these final issues saw extremely low production runs.
About: Secret Wars # 8 features the Origin of the Venom Alien and tells how Spider-Man acquired the black suit.
This issue of Secret Wars was published at the same time that the original Venom storyline was concluding in Amazing Spider-Man # 258, which revealed the costume to be an evil alien symbiote.
