Amazing Spider-Man # 299  features the first full image of Venom. The iconic Spider-Man villain appears on both second to last page and final page as a large full splash page. This follows his cameo appearance in the previous issue. Signature Notes: Amazing Spider-Man # 299 was hand signed by Co-Creator Artist, Todd McFarlane, and inker Bob McLeod at New York Comic Con 2019. The comic was also signed Co-Creator Writer, David Michelinie, at Mohegan Sun Terrific Con 2018. A Brooklyn Comic Shop representative witnessed each of the signatures in person. These issues feature the first appearance of Mr. Sinister, leader of the Marauders. Following the Mutant Massacre storyline, Mr. Sinister sends the Marauders to kill Cyclops's estranged wife, Madelyne Prior.
